This is a screenshot of me using Autodesk Inventor to create a CAD model of a Hyde Drift Boat.
This is a screenshot of one of my CAD models being rendered in realtime using my iPhone's camera
This was also when i was getting frustrated with the model automatically being vertical and the dimensions being improperly scaled to Metric instead of Imperial units
I also learned that the iPhone's internal file stucture does not refresh the cached files and will need a new file name to see changes for said files, else they won't display changes (duh).
The simplest way I have learned to do is to get a good undistorted picture of the top and sides. If the pictures are distorted, I use Photoshop or similar tools to adjust the POV to best fit real life purpotions. I also make the image slightly transparent so i can see my sketches through the overlay.
Then,
Then,
